Q. When is the application season?
A. Our application deadline is December 1, 2020 (click here for guidelines) and we typically award grants in January or February.
Q. What size grants do you award?
A. The largest grant awarded to date is $2,500. Typically, we have less than $10,000 per year to award and we try to support as many projects as possible.
Q. How does the cultural trust program work and what do I do to make donations?
A. First, make a donation to your favorite Oregon cultural non-profit(s). Second, make an equal contribution to the Oregon Cultural Trust online at www.culturaltrust.org. Finally, claim your 100%, dollar for dollar tax credit for your gift to the Trust on your Oregon state income tax return (up to $500 for individuals, $1,000 for couples filing jointly and $2,500 for Oregon Corporations). Supporting Oregon’s culture couldn’t be easier or more important.
Q. How do I find out if my favorite Hood River County organization is on the state list of non-profit partners?
A. Click on the link to the state cultural trust site at www.culturaltrust.org then go to the section entitled “Supported Programs” and click on “Oregon’s 1000+ participating non-profits”. Once there, select Hood River County and begin your search. This will provide you with a current list of non-profit organizations in Hood River County that are eligible for the Cultural Trust tax credits based on your charitable donation. If you don’t see your favorite organization, call the state office at 503-986-0088 to find out if they are eligible.
